Two day route Lakaja description, day 1

Just after first 200 m in the lake, on your right you’ll see a mouth of Lakaja. After first 2.5 km in the river you’ll arrive to Lakaja village and bridge connecting Labanoras, Joniškis and Inturkė. Next villages with added distance: +2.5 km – village Fedariškiai, +2 km – village Basakavas, +1.5 km village Iruliškis and after another 1 km you’ll enter lake Aldikis. You’ll need to cross 1 km on it until you see a connection to a next lake – Lakajas. Connection length is around 1 km. After you enter Lakajas lake you need to swin to cape on the other side of the lake. There you’ll find a campsite for your night, we do not recommend to look for an another place, because everything else around is a private territory.

Two day route Lakaja description, day 2

First 1 km through a lake towards area where it starts to narrow. After another 800 m on your left you’ll see ouflow of Lakaja river. On your way you’ll swim through: +3.5 km Vilkaslastis village, +1 km Alirdiškė village where you’ll swim below a wooden bridge which connects Januliškis with villages on the right side of Lakaja village. After the bridge it will take another 2.5 km to Lamanina village, +3 km and on the left you’ll see Peršokšna tributary, nearby you’ll find Šeškuškės II village and after another 2.54 km Šeškuškė I village. +3.5 km to Santaka village and finnaly another 1 km you’ll enter Žeimena river. It will take only 1.5 km downstream to reach reinforced concrete bridge where you can stop on you right to finish your trip.

About Lakaja River

A very beatiful wild river flowing through regional park of Labanoras. Due to it’s calm nature, there is a lot of campsites around. It is a perfect river for a falimy trips. 29 km in length it is the most watery tributary to Žeimena river. The main source of Lakaja water is the lakes, so water levels here are relatively stable. Besides a few small footbridges or fallen trees, it should be a super calm and easy swim.
